Become A Mentee

JRGOS mentees are expected to be accessible, goal directed and thoughtful in their discourse with their mentors. Take initiative in the mentor-mentee relationship. Mentees should demonstrate a high personal standard for learning and self-improvement and display a high level of professionalism. Bring questions, concerns and ideas to your mentors. Remain humble and open to advice and feedback from your mentors. Conference with your mentor as often as you can and try to schedule meetings in advance but be understanding that last minutes changes may occur and be understanding of these potential scheduling conflicts. Elicit a mentor’s help in developing other informal supportive relationships. Be honest with your mentor about any concerns you may have regarding the mentoring relationship and clearly communicate your goals for the building a productive relationship with your mentor.
